Each senior class at Keene Central School must individually create and execute a senior project. This is any activity to assist the community. This could be anywhere from teaching a “Cursive Class” for elementary students after school, to planning a local “Out of The Darkness Walk”. Each year, a Keene Central School senior coordinates four American Red Cross blood drives throughout the school year. For ten years, since 2007, a senior has partnered with Mark Sturges— the supervisor— and the American Red Cross to hold four blood drives throughout the year. In total, the KCS blood drives have collected 525 units of blood So far this potentially saving the lives of over 1,575 patients. So far this year, Keene has collected 44 units of blood potentially saving 138 lives total. The next blood drive is tentatively scheduled for February 26th at Keene Central School.
